The harness by X Ray is a strap for strap-on play into which you fit a dildo of your choice. At the front sits a triangular black plate. On it, four tabs of webbing, laid crosswise and fastened with metal press studs, hold a ring in the middle. Which ring suits which dildo?

The one that grips the shaft closely. Try the small ring first and go up a size if the dildo will not push through. If it sits loosely, it tips to the side when thrusting; if it is too tight, the ring pinches.

What does the dildo need?

A base that is wider than the ring. The dildo is pushed through the ring from behind and held by its base. Without a flared base it slips through and has no hold.

How do I change the ring?

Via the press studs. The tabs around the ring are fastened to the plate with them; open them and you can take the ring out and fit a different size. Then close all the studs again and check that the ring sits in the centre.

How does the harness sit properly?

Firmly, but without cutting in. Adjust the hip band first, then the leg straps, until the plate lies flat on the pubic bone and does not slip when you move. There should still be room for a finger between strap and skin; if the bands press or the skin goes numb, loosen them.

How is it cleaned?

By hand. Take the rings out, wash the strap in lukewarm water with mild soap and let it air-dry. Clean the silicone rings like a toy with warm water and soap or a toy cleaner.

Which lubricant fits?

A water-based one. It suits the silicone rings and every dildo material, whereas silicone lubricant can attack silicone. Suitable products stand under water-based lubricant.
