The Climaxer from the Intimate Pump range by CalExotics combines suction and vibration. At the front sits a soft suction cup with small nubs inside that goes over the clitoris; behind it is the curved handle with two buttons. A silver band sits between the slim, curved neck and the handle. It has twelve functions in which the suction runs in sync with the vibration. It is made of silicone, waterproof and rechargeable. How long may the sucker stay on?

Ten to fifteen minutes at a stretch is the usual limit. Then release and let the area warm up. If the skin turns pale, cold or numb, the limit has already been passed; remove it at once.

Do marks remain?

Not with short use, but they do with too much pull: the negative pressure bursts small vessels, and that looks like a love bite. Less pull and less time solve it reliably. If vessels have burst, take the next day off.

Who should not use this?

People with clotting disorders or on blood thinners, anyone with inflamed or injured skin, and while breastfeeding. When in doubt, ask your doctor first.

How is it cleaned?

Wash the suction cup and handle with warm water, mild soap or a sex toy cleaner, rinse the cup thoroughly inside and let it dry. More pumps are under pumps.

How do you put the suction cup on?

Rest the rim flat all the way round and only then switch it on. A drop of water-based lubricant on the rim seals it; if the cup lifts at one point, the suction is lost. Silicone gel attacks the silicone surface and so stays away.
