How do you put the pump on correctly?

With a little lubricant on the rim and the testicles outside the cylinder. A thin film of water-based lubricant on the sleeve helps it seal; closely trimmed hair at the base does the same. Hold the cylinder straight, press it gently against your body and start with a few calm squeezes.

How long and how hard may you pump?

Slowly and only for a few minutes at a time. Build the vacuum in small steps and take breaks in which you release it again. If you feel pain or numbness, the skin changes colour or blisters form, stop at once and let the air in. Never pump on injured or irritated skin, and bruises show that it was too much.
