The Matchmaker Couples Kit from Eye of Love contains two eaux de parfum of 10 ml each: Black Diamond and Red Diamond. It is meant for couples, one scent for each person. Both come in slim glass vials with the word MATCHMAKER: Black Diamond fades from black to clear and has a black cap, Red Diamond fades from red to clear and wears a silver cap. Together they sit in a round cardboard tube that is half black and half red, with a red lid and the Eye of Love eye logo. As a gift for a couple the set therefore needs no extra wrapping. The slim vials each fit in a jacket pocket or handbag in case you want to refresh the scent on the go. It sits under sexual preparations, under drugstore and in our sex toys section.

What do the two scents smell like?

Red Diamond combines jasmine, grapefruit and amber with a touch of citrus. Black Diamond relies on cedar, blackcurrant and lemon, with oak, white amber and musk underneath.

What is in the scents?

Both consist of alcohol (ethanol), fragrance, water, propylene glycol, castor oil and edetic acid. Each also contains one pheromone: androstenol in one scent, estratetraenol in the other. Whether pheromones have any effect in humans is not scientifically established.

How do I apply it?

Onto the skin on the neck, the nape or the wrists, sparingly to begin with. Let the scent dry down instead of rubbing it in. Better not to put it on clothing, because fragrances can leave marks on light fabric.

What about sensitive skin?

Try each scent on a small patch before the first evening, such as the inside of the elbow. If the skin reddens or itches, stop using it. Keep the scents away from the eyes, mucous membranes and the intimate area; if some gets into the eye, rinse it with plenty of clean water. Keep the vials out of reach of children.

How do you store the set?

Ideally back in the cardboard tube, cool, dry and out of direct sunlight, with the caps on. Heat and light change fragrances over time. How long a scent lasts on the skin depends on skin, warmth and the amount.
