Does the bow sit at the front or the back?

At the back, centred above the band - that is how it appears on every product photo. It is sewn on and cannot be moved; anyone wanting it at the front turns the stocking round.

What holds a hold-up stocking up?

A silicone strip inside the band. It needs grease-free skin: anyone moisturising first will not wonder for long about slipping stockings. So the stockings first, the care for everything else afterwards.

What does one size mean here?

Leg Avenue lists one size as EU 34 to 40 and plus size as EU 42 to 46. With hosiery the thigh circumference decides above all - that is where the band sits, and that is where it gets uncomfortable if it is too tight.

Can they still be clipped to suspenders?

Yes. The band is wide enough for a clip, and many wear the combination for the look alone. The clip grips the band, not the fine knit beneath it.

What do you do when a stitch ladders?

A drop of clear nail varnish at the top and bottom end of the ladder stops it at once. It is not pretty, but it saves the evening - and on an opaque knit you hardly see it.

How do you put them on without ruining them?

Rings off, nails checked, gather the stocking to the heel, place the foot inside and roll the leg up slowly. Never pull on the band - that is where the join tears first.

How are they washed?

By hand in cold water or in a laundry net on a delicate cycle, then dried flat. No fabric softener on the silicone: it settles there as a film, and after that nothing holds.
