Tights or stockings?

Stockings: two separate legs that end at the thigh. There is no fabric over the hips and bottom; you wear briefs or a thong of your choice there.

What does one size mean?

It corresponds roughly to EU dress sizes 34 to 40. The knit is made entirely of polyamide; what matters for the fit is the thigh, because that is where the lace band has to sit flat all round without digging in.

How do you put them on?

Rings off and nails checked, then gather the stocking down to the heel, slip your foot in and roll the fabric slowly up your leg. Finally you turn the lace band so that the bow sits centred on the front of your thigh.

What helps against a ladder?

A drop of clear nail varnish at the top and bottom end of the ladder stops it. After that you can keep wearing the stockings until you take them off.

How do you wash them?

Most gently by hand in cool water. Only press the satin bows gently instead of crumpling them, so that they keep their shape; then let the stockings dry flat.

What do you wear them with?

With skirts or dresses whose hem ends just above the lace band, the bows show when you sit and walk. In the bedroom, a black panty or a thong is all you need with them.
