T-Shirt Chill XL – an orange-red palm leaf print 🌴

From the Chill series by Anais Men, a label that deliberately treats menswear as lingerie rather than as an undershirt. The Chill print shows palm leaves in orange and red, with a few in dark blue between them, scattered on a black ground. The fabric is a fine mesh that is slightly see-through; on the short sleeves it is almost transparent. It is cut as a classic T-shirt with a round neckline finished with a narrow black trim, and the hem ends straight at hip height. The mesh consists of 95% polyamide and 5% elastane and therefore brings enough stretch to follow the body line instead of hanging boxily over it. Polyamide with elastane does breathe less than cotton, though; for an evening that makes no difference, for a long day it does. The shorts in the pictures are not included. Which size should I take?

This T-shirt is size XL. It is best to choose the size you also wear in other close-fitting shirts.

Is this underwear or outerwear?

Both work; it is meant as lingerie. The cut sits close enough to disappear under a shirt, and the print is striking enough to wear it on its own. How you use it is up to you.

How do I wash it?

Most gently by hand in cool water with a little mild detergent and together with similar colours. Do not wring it afterwards; press the water out gently and let the T-shirt dry flat in the air, which is quick with this fabric anyway. Fabric softener and the tumble dryer are best left out.
