A cleaner that wants rinsing off: the spray from Fuck Fist works with non-ionic surfactants below five per cent and does without alcohol. The label states the sequence in one line: apply, rinse with water, dry. That is exactly what sets it apart from the alcohol sprays you let act and evaporate; here a surfactant film would otherwise stay on the toy, and that does not belong against mucous membrane. In return an alcohol-free cleaner does not attack soft surfaces, which is the deciding point with silicone, TPE and PVC. The pump atomises finely enough to reach grooves and transitions, and 150 millilitres last for months in normal use. It is preserved with sodium benzoate. Do I really have to rinse afterwards?

Yes, and the label says so. The cleaner works with surfactants, that is with washing-active substances, and those are meant to leave with the dirt rather than stay on the toy. One pump, spread it briefly, rinse under lukewarm water and let it dry, that is all there is to it.

Why alcohol-free?

Because alcohol dries out soft materials. Silicone still copes, TPE and PVC turn dull and tacky over time. An alcohol-free cleaner works more slowly, but the toy survives it. How the materials differ is covered in the silicone guide.

Which toys is it suitable for?

All those that tolerate water, so silicone, TPE, PVC, glass and metal. With motors and batteries the usual applies: the charging port stays dry, and you spray the body rather than the electronics. Toys without water protection are only wiped down.

How is the bottle stored?

Cool, dry and away from light, and out of reach of children. Once opened the contents keep best if the pump stays clean; wipe the nozzle now and then so it does not gum up. Suitable lubricant for afterwards is under water-based lubricant.
