How do you put the cup on?

Flat and with a little lubricant on the rim. Place it so that the rim rests evenly all round, and hold it with one hand while the other pumps. A thin film of lubricant improves the seal; suitable ones are under water-based lubricant.

How do you build up the suction?

Pull by pull and very gently. Each pull on the trigger takes a little air out of the cup. Increase slowly and pause as soon as you clearly feel the suction. The vacuum does not stop by itself: it stays until you release it. So get to know the release button before the first use.

What do you need to watch?

Hold it briefly and release at the slightest warning sign. Let the suction work for a few minutes only and then take the cup off using the release button, never by pulling. With pain, numbness or a discolouration of the skin, let air in at once. Do not put the cup on irritated or injured skin.
