Does it need a particular massage wand?

One with a round head between forty-five and sixty millimetres. The attachment is pulled over it and holds through the tension of the material; without a matching wand it is just a piece of silicone.

Why a surface instead of a tip?

Because a massage wand has a lot of power and a tip brings too much of it to one spot. A nubbed surface spreads the same power and only thereby makes it usable.

Why an attachment and not a second device?

Because the motor is the expensive part. A massage wand has more power than most small vibrators; an attachment directs that power somewhere else without paying for a second motor.

How is it cleaned?

Warm water and toy cleaner, keeping clear of the charging contacts and letting it dry completely. The only lubricant that belongs with it is water-based lubricant, because silicone-based products attack the surface.
