🦷 What makes a bite gag different

With a bite gag the material sits between the teeth instead of filling the mouth. That changes two things: the jaw stays more relaxed than with a ball gag, and the wearer can still make sounds. Both make this design the quieter variant – for many people it is the first gag they ever try.

How safe is a gag?

Only as safe as your preparation. The three fixed rules: never put one on alone, never wear one unsupervised, never wear one for long stretches. A gag takes away speech – so you need a signal that works without words.

How do we agree on a stop signal?

The usual method is an object held in the hand that gets dropped, or a set number of taps. Agree on the signal before you start and try it once so it is familiar. Anyone who is tied up and cannot tap needs a third option – blinking in an agreed pattern, for instance.

How long can a gag stay in?

Ten to fifteen minutes to begin with. Drooling is normal and no cause for concern, as long as the wearer can swallow and breathe freely through the nose. With a cold, a blocked nose or nausea the gag stays out – that is not a question of experience.

When does it have to come out immediately?

At breathing difficulty, gagging, panic or numbness in the jaw. Release the strap briskly but without rushing, and offer water afterwards. Jaw pain the next day is a sign that the session ran too long.

How do I clean the gag?

After every use with warm water and a toy cleaner, then let it dry completely. Since the gag sits in the mouth, cleaning is compulsory rather than optional – especially if the two of you share it.

Is this suitable for beginners?

What goes with it?

How do I judge the right strap length?

The strap should sit snugly without pulling at the cheeks, and you must be able to release it with one movement. If opening it takes two hands and patience, it is on wrong – in an emergency every second counts. Practise releasing it once in calm conditions before you start.

What about piercings and dentures?

Tongue and lip piercings come out beforehand, because they get in the way when biting down and can damage both enamel and mucous membrane. Loose-fitting dentures likewise have no place in a situation where you cannot speak.
