Excite is a pure drugstore brand: ten items, not a single toy. Four of them are lubricants, three are sensation gels in small 20 ml bottles, plus a massage oil, an intimate care product and a toy cleaner.

The Power stimulating gel for him, the Fly intimate drops for both and the intimate gel with a fresh effect for him make up the sensation range. They are applied drop by drop and are meant to change how things feel – no substitute for lubricant.

What is a hybrid lubricant?

A mix of water- and silicone-based gel. It glides longer than a pure water gel and still washes off more easily than pure silicone gel. The catch: because of the silicone content it does not belong on silicone toys – it attacks the surface there. With silicone toys, use water-based lubricant.

How much lubricant do I need?

Less than most people think, and reapplied more often. A water-based gel soaks in over time; instead of applying a lot at once, add a few drops or a little water – that reactivates it. For anal play the opposite applies: there it should be plenty from the start.

What do the sensation gels do?

They are meant to change how the spot they sit on feels – warming, cooling or tingling. What exactly is in the three Excite gels and how they differ does not follow from our data. Stick to what the packaging says and test on an unproblematic patch of skin first.

Are the gels condom-safe?

The water-based ones, yes. For the hybrid gel and the sensation gels it is stated on the packaging – we have no reliable data on it. Latex condoms do not tolerate oil- or fat-based products, so the massage oil should stay well away from a condom. More in our condom guide.

Why a dedicated toy cleaner?
