🍌 Skins – condoms and lubricants, both of them flavoured

Skins is a British brand split roughly evenly between condoms and lubricants. The striking thing is the same on both sides: they come in an unusual number of flavours – among the gels as far as salted caramel and birthday cake.

Pack sizes are consistent: every condom variety comes as a 4, 8 and 16 pack. And many gels come as a 5 ml sachet to try before you commit to the 130 ml bottle.

Nineteen water-based gels plus four silicone-based ones. The water-based ones fall into three groups:

• ✅ Fruity – strawberry, watermelon, mango & passion fruit
• ✅ Dessert – double chocolate, mint chocolate, salted caramel, bubblegum and birthday cake

❓ Frequently asked questions

Can I use the Skins silicone gels with condoms?

Yes. Silicone-based lubricant is latex-compatible – the myth is persistent but wrong. Only oil attacks latex: massage oil, petroleum jelly, body lotion. Silicone is instead incompatible with silicone toys, because it dulls the surface – that is a separate question from the condom one.

What are the flavoured condoms for?

Oral sex. The flavour sits in the coating and masks the smell of latex. They are approved for penetration just like any other condom – flavoured condoms are not a novelty, they are ordinary condoms with an aroma.

Can I use fruity lubricant for oral sex?

The flavoured gels are made for it. Even so: sugary gels inside the vagina can upset the natural balance and encourage thrush. They are meant for foreplay and oral sex; for longer intercourse a neutral gel is the better choice.

What is the difference between hybrid and purely water-based?

Hybrid gels contain a share of silicone. They last considerably longer and need topping up less often, but they are harder to wash off and do not belong on silicone toys.

What size do I need?

What decides is the nominal width, the width of the condom lying flat, not the length. If it pinches or makes the erection fade, take the extra large version. There is more on this in the condom guide.
