How does a rinse work?

Check the temperature on your wrist first: lukewarm, never hot, because water that is too warm damages the delicate lining of the bowel before you notice. Coat the nozzle with a little water-based lubricant and insert it slowly. Then squeeze the balloon evenly and without force and release only a small amount, never the whole filling at once. Keep it squeezed while you pull the nozzle out, otherwise it draws the water back in. Then empty your bowel on the toilet and repeat until the water stays clear. Stop at once if you feel cramps or pain.

What may go into the water?

Only clear tap water. Soap, shower gel, salt, oils or rinse additives irritate the mucous membrane and make things worse, not cleaner.

How often should you douche?
