Does the tail stay on for washing?

No, and that matters: the pompom does not belong in water. The plug is cleaned with lukewarm water and toy cleaner, the fur stays dry and is only shaken out. Once wet it mats and dries stiff. It comes off by carefully pulling the collar off the base.

How do you start with it?

Which lubricant fits?
