What are the two pump bulbs for?

For inflating the bulges on the shaft. Each bulb hangs on its own line, so each bulge can be filled with air on its own.

How much air may go in?

Only a little. Pump slowly, one squeeze at a time, and stop before it feels tight or presses; never overstretch. Before you pull the catheter out, let the air out completely and only then withdraw it slowly.

What matters when rinsing?

Lukewarm water, calm and small amounts. Check the temperature on your wrist beforehand and use clear water only, without soap or other additives. Coat the tip with water-based lubricant and insert it gently and slowly, never with force. Let in only a little water at a time, do not rinse more often than necessary and stop at once if it hurts.

Is this something for beginners?

Rather not. Pumping, rinsing and releasing follow one another here and take practice. If you are rinsing for the first time, a simple cleansing bulb is easier to handle and shows you how much water feels comfortable.

How is the catheter cleaned?

Through all the lines. Rinse the shaft inside and out with warm water and mild soap and let water run through the open connection until it comes out clear. Wipe the pump bulbs on the outside. Then hang everything up in the open so that the thin lines can dry as well.
