Small enough for a travel bag: the Travel Cleaner anal douche by Anbiguo is electric, with a tank, a pump and a slim silicone nozzle. Instead of squeezing a bulb, you start the pump at the press of a button and choose between five jet strengths; the water comes out at the tip and at the sides. The nozzle narrows towards the tip, and a silver ring separates it from the grip section, whose surface carries a diamond pattern. The silicone is phthalate-free and odourless. The tank has a scale for reading off the fill level, and it charges via USB. Less is more here: an anal douche rinses out the last section of the bowel, no more. Start on the lowest setting and fill in less than the tank holds, because more water only rinses out higher up what belongs there. The nozzle gets water-based lubricant, because silicone gel can attack the silicone, and goes in without force; emptying happens over the toilet. One or two rounds are almost always enough. How is it filled?

Through the lid at the bottom: flip it open, pour in the water, close the lid firmly and only then start the pump.

What water goes in?

Lukewarm tap water, nothing else. Soap, salt and shower gel irritate the mucous membrane; water that is too hot or too cold does too. It should feel tepid, not warm.

How often can you do this?

Not as a daily habit. Regular rinsing washes away the natural protective layer as well. Before the occasion yes, on principle no.

How long beforehand?

Half an hour to an hour. Water can still run out right afterwards; planning for that time keeps things relaxed.

How is it cleaned?

Rinse tank and nozzle with warm water and a mild sex toy cleaner, then leave them open to dry completely, inside too.
