With or without the tube?

Both work. With the tube the syringe stays at a distance and you can press the plunger in a comfortable position. Without the tube it is quicker to fill and clean and can be guided directly.

What is the scale for?

For reading the amount. You see how much you have drawn up and already given. An amount that felt comfortable can be drawn up exactly the same way next time.

What matters when rinsing?

Lukewarm, slow and never the full syringe. Check the temperature on your wrist beforehand and use clear water only, without soap or other additives. The large capacity is leeway, not a target: give only a little water at a time and let it out again before you carry on. Coat the tip or the end of the tube with lubricant, insert gently, never with force, press the plunger evenly and do not rinse more often than necessary. Stop at once if it hurts.

How do you draw up water without air?

With the tip under water. Hold the tip or the tube in a bowl of lukewarm water and pull the plunger back slowly. Then hold the opening up, tap the barrel lightly and push the air out until the first water appears.

How is everything cleaned?

Part by part. Pull off the tube, take out the plunger and wash everything with warm water and mild soap. Let water run through the tube for a while and then hang it up to dry; the other parts dry in the open before you put them together.
