Slick’N’Slide by JoyDivision is a silicone-based lubricating fluid in a clear bottle with a pump dispenser. You operate it with one hand, without unscrewing a cap, and only ever release a small amount. A clear protective cap sits over the pump head. The fluid is thin and clear; it does not soak in and does not dry out. In the shower and the bath it stays on the skin, where a water-based gel would be rinsed away. It is made in Germany. Why not with silicone toys?

Silicone and silicone do not get on. Over time the fluid attacks the surface of a silicone toy, which turns dull and tacky. Toys made of glass, metal or ceramic are not affected.

How much do you use?

Little. Start with one pump and only add more when needed, because silicone spreads a long way. Rub it briefly between your fingers so that it is not cold when you apply it.

Does it work with condoms?

Yes, it is suitable for condoms. Silicone does not attack latex, which is where it differs from oil.

Does it suit anal sex?

Yes. The rectum produces no moisture of its own, so a lubricant that does not dry out is especially pleasant there. Apply more generously than vaginally and take your time.

How do you wash it off?

With warm water and soap; water alone is not enough, and in the shower it comes off most easily with shower gel. On the sheet it leaves marks that come out with detergent; a towel underneath saves you the trouble.

Which base suits when?
