Why not with silicone toys?

Because silicone attacks silicone. The surface of the toy goes dull and tacky over time, and that cannot be undone. For silicone toys, use a water gel from the water-based lubricant category.

What does it get on with?

How is it removed?

With warm water and soap; water alone is not enough.

What should I watch out for in the shower?

The floor. If silicone gel drips onto tiles or into the bath, the surface becomes slippery. So wipe up drops straight away with a little washing-up liquid before anyone slips.

How much do I need?

Less than of a water gel. One pump is enough to start with; spread it with your fingers and only add more once it noticeably glides less.

Does it stain?

On fabric silicone can leave stains that do not come out well in a normal wash. So put a towel down; that is easier than washing afterwards.

How do I store it?

Closed, upright and at room temperature. Wipe the opening briefly after use so that no film collects there that ends up on your fingers next time.
