Why not simply soap?

Soap cleans too, but it leaves residues in the surface - and porous materials like TPE give those back later. A toy cleaner is matched to that and does not have to be rinsed off.

Does it suit every material?

All the common ones: silicone, TPE, glass, metal and hard plastics. What it does not replace is water on actual soiling - rinse first, then spray.

How often is it used?

Is spraying alone enough?

On smooth surfaces yes. Anything with grooves, beads or an inner skin is also rinsed through with warm water - a spray only reaches what it wets.

Why does this matter more with TPE than with silicone?

Because TPE is porous. Silicone has a closed surface and forgives carelessness; TPE takes up whatever is left on it and gives it back next time. Anyone with TPE in the house needs a cleaner, not soap.

What about rechargeable devices?

How is it stored?
