The Hydro-Pro by Doc Johnson from the Fort Troff line is an anal douche with an electric pump. A clear polycarbonate tank holds the water, the black pump housing with a non-slip grip and a single button sits on top, and at the front there is a flexible, removable silicone nozzle. One press starts the pump, and it runs on a rechargeable battery. An anal douche rinses out the last section of the rectum, no more, and no more is intended. Use little water and rinse once or twice, not until nothing comes any more; the tank does not need to be full for that. Allow a few minutes afterwards. What water goes in?

Lukewarm tap water, nothing else. Soap, salt or additives irritate the lining, and an irritated lining is the opposite of what you wanted.

How often may you rinse?

Not daily. Regular rinsing throws the natural flora out of balance and makes the lining more sensitive, not cleaner.

How strong is the water flow?

The pump has three levels. Always start on the lowest and stay there as long as it does the job; more pressure does not make the rinse more thorough, only more uncomfortable. A shower connection often delivers more pressure than the bowel takes, whereas the tank limits the amount of water.

How do you insert the nozzle?

With a little water-based lubricant on the nozzle; the selection is under water-based lubricant. Insert it slowly and without force, and only start the pump once the nozzle is in place; anyone pushing injures.

How do you clean and store the douche?

After every use, wash it thoroughly with mild washing-up liquid and warm water and let it air-dry with the tank tab left open. For storage, unscrew the nozzle so that the douche takes up less space. A mesh bag for travel is included.
