Why is silicone so economical?

Because nothing soaks in and nothing evaporates. A water-based gel is absorbed by the skin and has to be topped up; a silicone gel is still where it started at the end of the evening.

Why must it not touch silicone toys?

Because like dissolves like. Silicone oil makes the surface of a silicone toy dull and eventually tacky, and that does not come back. For silicone toys there is water-based lubricant.

How do you get it off again?

From skin with soap - water alone is not enough because silicone oil repels water. Out of textiles it comes less readily than a water-based gel; a towel underneath saves the argument with the washing machine.
