Aqua Quality is a water-based lubricant with no fragrance, no flavour and no effect. That is exactly the point: if you want a gel for everyday use and have no interest in strawberry or tingling, this is it. It comes in five fill sizes from 50 to 1000 ml.

For the bedside table the 50 ml bottle is enough; the 100 ml bottle lasts a little longer. The standard size is the 200 ml bottle, the stock-up option the 1000 ml canister. Why choose a gel with no fragrance?

Because there is less in it. Fragrances and flavourings are the most common cause of irritation, and the sugar in flavoured gels can upset the vaginal flora in sensitive people. A neutral gel does not have that problem – but it tastes of nothing, which some people miss during oral sex. Flavoured options are under flavoured lubricant.

Is it compatible with toys and condoms?

Yes, with everything. Water-based gels attack neither silicone nor latex – it is the only base that works everywhere. Silicone-based gel lasts longer but does not belong on silicone toys; anything oil-based destroys condoms. More on this in the lubricant guide.

Why does it get tacky after a while?

Because the water evaporates. That is normal and not a fault: a few drops of water or a little saliva make it slippery again straight away. If you would rather not reapply at all, reach for silicone lubricant.

Is the 1000 ml canister worth it?

If you use lubricant regularly and generously, yes – anal play in particular uses far more gel than you would first assume. Decanting into a small bottle makes handling easier. Keep in mind that opened gels only keep for a limited time depending on the manufacturer; that is printed on the bottle.

How does it wash off?

With clean water, leaving no residue. That is the practical advantage over silicone and oil-based gels, which need water and soap. Water-based gel comes out of bed linen in a normal wash without any trouble.
