🔧 What a universal harness does

A harness is the frame, not the content. It holds the dildo in place and transfers the movement of the hips – which is why it decides more about the experience than the toy itself. Universal means it adjusts in width and combines with different dildos, rather than being tied to one single model.

Silicone sits softly on the skin, does not chafe and can be cleaned completely. On a part that stays in direct body contact for a long time and takes the strain, that is what sets it apart from cheap imitation leather.

Which dildo do I need for it?

One with a base that fits the opening of the harness. Start with a smaller diameter than you think is right – with a strap-on the feedback from your own hand is missing, and that almost always leads to picking too much. Models are under realistic and classic dildos.

How do I adjust the harness properly?

Put it on before anything else happens, and set the width standing up. It should sit firmly without cutting in – if it slips on the first movement, it will slip more later. Check the fit again once the dildo is in place, because the weight changes everything.

How do I start with a strap-on?

Slowly and with plenty of lubricant. The person wearing it cannot feel what is arriving, so the receiving person takes the lead – at least at the beginning. The sequence is described in our strap-on guide, and the technique in detail in the article on using strap-on dildos.

Is this only for women?

No. A harness can be worn by anyone and used in any direction. When a woman penetrates a man anally, it is called pegging – there is a separate beginner's guide for that.

Which lubricant works?

Water-based, always. It is compatible with silicone, with condoms and with all the usual dildo materials. For anal use take a thick product from the anal and fisting lubricant range.

How do I clean the harness?

By hand with lukewarm water and mild soap, then let it air dry. Not in the tumble dryer and not in the washing machine. Clean the dildo separately with warm water and a toy cleaner. More items for play as a couple are under sex toys for couples.

Why does the wearer not feel anything?

Because the dildo is not part of their body – pressure and movement do not arrive as sensation, only through the hips. If you want to feel something yourself, put a vibrator between the harness and your body, or add a toy of your own.

How long does a harness like this last?

A long time, if the seams are looked after. Check the ring opening and the straps from time to time for fraying – a harness that gives way mid-movement is a mood killer, and in the worst case rather more than that.

What helps against chafing?

The harness belongs over underwear or directly on clean, dry skin – not over skin you have just moisturised. If an edge digs in, the width is distributed wrong: tightening rarely helps, repositioning does.
