🧽 Confort 365 – vaginal sponge with lubricant
From Confort 365 we currently carry one item: the vaginal sponge with lubricant in a pack of three, made of cotton, for gentle care. More items are under intimate hygiene.
🌊 What a vaginal sponge is for
A sponge is inserted and absorbs fluid without applying anything itself. The most common reason for using one is sex during a period: the sponge holds back what would otherwise get in the way, and you do not notice it while doing so. Unlike a tampon it has no retrieval string and is flat enough not to be in the way.
💧 Why it comes pre-moistened
A dry sponge draws moisture out of the tissue, and that is unpleasant both going in and coming out. The lubricant it comes with takes care of exactly that – so you usually need nothing extra, though you can always add a water-based lubricant.
⚠️ Is this a contraceptive?
No. A vaginal sponge of this kind does not prevent pregnancy and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections either. If either matters, you additionally need a condom. That is the most important point on this page – it gets misunderstood regularly.
How do I insert it?
With washed hands, squatting or with one foot raised. Squeeze the sponge together, insert it and push until you can no longer feel it. If it sits correctly you will notice it neither sitting down nor walking.
How do I get it out again?
There is no retrieval string – you grip it with two fingers. Squatting helps, because the vagina shortens in that position; bearing down gently brings it further along. If you cannot reach it straight away, do not panic: it cannot get lost.
How long can it stay in?
As briefly as possible and never overnight. Stick to the time given on the packaging. If you get a fever, nausea or a rash during use, take it out immediately and seek medical advice – that applies to everything worn inside the vagina.
Can I use it more than once?
No. The pack of three contains three sponges for three uses. Washing out and reusing is not a good idea with a product that absorbs body fluid.
What else belongs with it?
A mild wash gel and a towel within reach. What else helps with sex during a period is described in our article on sex during your period. More preparations and aids are under preparations and aids.
Is a sponge the same as a tampon?
No. A tampon absorbs and is pulled out by the string; a sponge takes fluid up, sits flatter and is retrieved with the fingers. For sex during a period the sponge is the more practical design, for everyday use outside that it is the tampon.
Will my partner feel the sponge?
As a rule not, if it sits correctly. If they do, it is sitting too far forward – then push it a little further and try again.
What do I do about dryness or burning?
Take it out and stop using it. Burning is not something you get used to; it is a sign that the mucous membrane and the formulation do not agree. With sensitive skin it is worth testing on a small area beforehand.
How is it delivered?
Neutrally and discreetly. We ship in an unprinted box with no reference to the contents, and the sender details give nothing away either. Within Germany we deliver free of shipping costs, with no minimum order value.
