ElectraStim comes from the United Kingdom and builds exclusively for electrostimulation. The control units 🎛️

What should you watch with electrostimulation?

Two rules that are not negotiable: current stays below the belt, and it never flows across the heart. Anyone with a pacemaker or another implant, who is pregnant, or who has a heart condition or epilepsy, keeps away from it. Both electrodes belong on the same side of the body, you start at the lowest setting, and the unit is switched off before anything is unplugged.

Why does it need conductive gel?

Because dry skin concentrates the current in single points – that burns and can leave the skin irritated. A thin film of conductive gel spreads the current across the whole contact area and makes the sensation more even. Important: only gel expressly declared conductive, not ordinary lubricant. Silicone-based even insulates.

What goes together?

A control unit and at least two contact surfaces, so the current closes a circuit. Bipolar electrodes such as the Rocker plug already have both poles built in and need only one cable; unipolar rings and loops are used in pairs. Anyone who wants to work with two channels needs a unit that can do it – KIX has one, Linx and SensaVox have two.

Which measurements and materials are on file?

38 of the 66 articles carry a measurement in the data sheet, 28 do not – for cables, pads and control units that is beside the point. 19 articles are silicone, ten aluminium, eight stainless steel, four rubber; on 18 the detail is missing. Metal conducts directly and therefore feels sharper than silicone with inlaid contacts.

How is it cleaned?

Clean electrodes with warm water and a mild cleaner after every use, rinse off gel residue completely and store everything dry – dried-on gel reduces conductivity. Metal parts are dried off, cables are not kinked and not pulled out by the plug. See sex toy cleaner.
